What is Net Asset Value?

(NAV) is a term used to describe the value of an entity's assets less the value of its liabilities. This is essentially where the true value of an investment lies. The investment can take many forms, but for the moment, and as far as this website is concerned (at least for now), we shall be referring to the net asset value of Oil Exploration Companies, and in particular their perceived value, or estimated value upon realisation of these assets.

We have developed software that makes it easier for investors to determine the true value of a stock. The true value being the share price once the prospective oil reserves come into realisation, and production can commence. This is obviously highly speculative, and oil in place (OIP) is a very contentious issue. Estimated reserves are just that, and actual reserves can range from being nothing at all, to way over any researched data led experts to believe.
